Eight-year-old boy hit by car on Scots road outside school

An eight-year-old boy has been hit by a car outside a Scots school.

The incident occurred outside Glashieburn School on Jesmond Drive in Bridge of Don, Aberdeen.

Emergency services rushed to the scene of the accident at around 3.10pm on Friday November 5.

Temporary road closures were put in place in the area surrounding the primary school.

The child was taken to hospital via ambulance as a precautionary measure, according to Police Scotland.

A spokesperson said for the force said: "Officers were called at 3.10pm on Friday, 5 November, to a report of a child being hit by car on Jesmond Drive, Bridge of Don.

"Emergency services attended and the child was taken to hospital by ambulance as a precaution."
