A serious crash has been causing severe tailbacks for Ayrshire commuters this morning.
Police have confirmed that between eight and nine cars were involved in the collision shortly before 7am on the M77.
Motorists have been reporting huge delays on the A77 as a result, going as far back at the Bellfield interchange.
A Police Scotland spokesperson told our sister title Glasgow Live: "We were called at around 6.45am this morning to the M77 Junction 8 nortbound, near Fenwick.
"It looks like there were eight to nine vehicles involved.
"It doesn't look like there's any serious injuries.
"It looks like most of the vehicles have now been moved to the side."
