Eight tragic deaths have been reported across Merseyside in less than a fortnight.
Two bodies were recovered from lakes in two unrelated and heartbreaking incidents in Liverpool and Wirral, with tributes paid to both men.
Other incidents reported to police include the death of a 79 year old man, in Old Swan, with his son appearing in court on Wednesday charged with his murder.

Most recently, police appealed for information after a man died following a crash in Heswall, on Monday, January 3.
A spokesperson said: "At around 10.15am we received a report of a collision involving a silver Toyota Auris car and a red Honda motorcycle at the junction of Chester Road and Gayton Lane.
"Emergency services attended and the rider of the motorcycle, a man in his 20s, was taken to hospital where he later passed away as a result of his injuries.
"The male driver of the car was taken to hospital for minor injuries and is assisting police with enquiries."
These are the tragic deaths Merseyside Police has responded to in recent weeks.
Man pulled from Walton Hall Park lake

The body of a man which was pulled out of Walton Hall Park lake was identified as that of Owen Caveney.
The 23-year-old was found by members of the public just before 9am on Sunday, December 26.
Emergency services attended and CPR was started but he was pronounced dead at the scene.
His death is being treated as unexplained and a post-mortem will be carried out to establish the cause of his death.
Flowers and tributes have now been tied to the railings next to the lake where he was found.
One said: “Another said: "Rest easy brother, will always love and miss you! Until we meet again, take care."
Anthony 'Tony' Lavender
A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his own dad.
David Lavender appeared before a judge at Sefton Magistrates Court this morning after the death of father Anthony Lavender on December 29 last year.
Police were called to a home on Woodhall Street in Old Swan shortly before midnight and found the 79-year-old with a head injury.
He died at the scene and David was arrested a short time later.
The 37-year-old was charged yesterday with the murder of his dad, who often went by the name Tony.
Police said after the incident that Tony suffered a head injury.
Wearing a grey tracksuit, David Lavender spoke this morning only to confirm his date of birth and address.
District Judge Wendy Lloyd immediately sent the case to Liverpool Crown Court and ordered Lavender be remanded in custody.
Man's body discovered at loop line bridge
A body was found in a wooded area after police were called about concerns for the safety of a man.
There were reports of a "big police presence" under the Trans Pennine Trail loop line bridge on Childwall Valley Road at around 8.45pm on Wednesday, December 29.
Police later confirmed that a body of a man in his 20s was found and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Officers are not treating the death as suspicious.
Missing man found in park lake
A body found in a park lake on Thursday, December 30, was confirmed as a man who was missing for a month.
Police confirmed the discovery of a body in a lake at Birkenhead Park, was missing John Connors.
Mr Connors, 76, was last seen in Bedford Road in Birkenhead on November 30.
Police confirmed the body had been formally identified and officers are supporting his family.
Police said they are currently treating his death as unexplained and that a post mortem will take place to establish his cause of death.
Man found dead inside house on New Year's Eve
Emergency services were called to a report the body of a 37-year-old man was found inside a house on Hartington Road in West Derby just after 4.15pm on New Year's Eve.
Paramedics pronounced the man deceased at the scene.
Police and forensics remained at the scene until the new year as the property was cordoned off.
A spokesperson for the force has since confirmed that the death is being treated as 'non suspicious'.
The man’s next of kin has been informed.
Man dies in building fall on New Year’s Day
A man died after falling from a building on January, 1.
Police received a report from North West Ambulance Service at around 9.20am that a man in his 20s had fallen from an apartment building on Fox Street in Everton.
The man was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said the man's death is being treated ‘non suspicious’ and his next of kin have been informed.
Three month old baby dies in Old Swan
Police said an investigation into a baby’s death in Old Swan ‘remains ongoing.’
Officers received a call from North West Ambulance Service at around 4.30pm on Saturday, January 1, after a three-month-old baby was reported to have died at an address on Goschen Street in Old Swan.
In a recent update, a Merseyside Police spokesperson said enquiries into this case "remain ongoing."
They added a post mortem has also taken place and the full cause of death is pending.
A spokesperson for the force said: "This is part of protocol for information to be passed on to police when something like this happens and officers attended the scene.
"A police investigation is now underway."
Fatal road traffic accident

A man in his 20s died after a road traffic accident in Wirral on Monday, January 3.
The man was driving a motorcycle in Heswall when he was involved in a crash on Chester Road, at the junction of Gayton Lane, at around 10.15am.
Police confirmed that the crash involved silver Toyota Auris car and a red Honda motorcycle and that the rider of the motorcycle was taken to hospital.
Road closures were put in place while emergency services dealt with the incident.
The driver of the motorbike was described as being in a 'critical condition' and then died in hospital.
His next of kin have been informed.
The man driving the Toyota Auris was taken to hospital for minor injuries and is assisting police with enquiries.
