Eight to face court over alleged drug ring

Eight members of an alleged drug ring are due to face court after police targeted the group in a series of raids in southwest Sydney.

The alleged ring became the target of a police strike force in December.

Simultaneous raids took place at Tahmoor, Menangle, Oran Park, Spring Farm, and Harrington Park on Thursday.

Police allegedly uncovered 500 grams of cocaine, steroids, cannabis, a hydraulic press, three rifles and other prohibited weapons and ammunition. 

All up 10 people were charged, with eight of them due to face Parramatta Local Court on Friday.

Two men aged 24 and 25 were charged with knowingly directing the activities of a criminal group, which the others have been charged with participating in.

The 24-year-old was also charged alongside a 28-year-old woman with conducting a drug premises exposing a child.

Three other men aged 25, 26, and 31, as well as two 32-year-olds, were charged with drugs and proceeds of crime offences.

Two other women aged 23 and 28, were both charged with supplying a prohibited drug and participating in a criminal group, and were set to face Picton Local Court on Thursday.
