Coronavirus infection rates are continuing to rise in eight boroughs of Greater Manchester, the latest data has revealed.
Trafford continues to have the highest coronavirus infection rate, at 664.2 cases per 100,000 people in the week ending December 10.
The lowest infection rate is in Bolton, where the rate is 339.3 cases per 100,000 people, according to the latest data from the UK Health Security Agency.
Weekly rates have fallen in the other two boroughs.
In Greater Manchester as a whole, the infection rate is now 453.4 cases per 100,000 population.
The infection rate in the region is lower than the national average, which is 525.4 cases per 100,000 people.
A total of 12,857 people tested positive for coronavirus across Greater Manchester in the week which ended on December 10.
The Greater Manchester weekly total has increased by 1601 cases compared to the previous week, which means the infection rate was up 14 per cent in the last week..
The infection rate is higher than the national average in 2 areas of Greater Manchester. It is lower than the national average in 8 areas.
Hospital admissions
In the week ending on December 05, a total of 204 patients were admitted to Greater Manchester NHS hospitals with Covid-19. That is 14 more than the week before, a rise of 7 per cent.
On Tuesday December 07, there were 35 Mechanical Ventilation (MV) beds occupied by Covid patients in Greater Manchester NHS hospitals. That is the same as a week earlier.

In the week ending December 10, a total of 41 people died within 28 days of a positive Covid test across Greater Manchester, which is 9 more than the week before.

Wigan
There was a fall of nine per cent in cases in Wigan over the week ending December 10, and the infection rate is now 407.3 cases per 100,000 population.

Bolton
Bolton, which has the lowest infection rate in the region, recorded 978 positive Covid-19 tests in the week ending December 10, which is 89 more than the previous 7 days.
The coronavirus infection rate in Bolton is now 339.3 cases per 100,000 people and is up by ten per cent week-on-week.
Salford
Salford recorded 1294 coronavirus cases, which is 215 more than in the previous seven days.
The latest infection rate in Salford is 492.6 cases per 100,000 people and that is up 20 per cent week-on-week.
Stockport
In Stockport, the latest infection rate is 495.6 cases per 100,000 people and the number of cases has gone up by 15 per cent.
A total of 1458 people tested positive for Covid in Stockport over the seven days ending on December 10, which is 193 more than the week before.
Oldham
Oldham is an area where the trend is up. The latest infection rate here is 364.9 cases per 100,000 people.

Tameside
In Tameside, the number of cases is down by eight per cent compared to the previous week - leaving the infection rate at 386.1 cases per 100,000 population.
