There were eight new cases of COVID-19 diagnosed in 24 hours to 8pm on Thursday, bringing the total number of cases in the state to 3910.
There were 23,168 tests conducted on Thursday and there have now been more than 2.2 million tests carried out in NSW.
Of the new cases, one is a return traveller who is in hotel quarantine and the other seven are locally acquired and are linked to a known source or clusters.

Of the seven cases, three are contacts of cases linked to the CBD cluster; two are contacts of cases linked to St Pauls Catholic College in Greystanes; and two are household contacts of previously reported cases linked to Liverpool Hospital.
The total number of cases linked to the CBD cluster sits at 57.
A confirmed case attended New Brighton Golf Club in Moorebank while infectious on Friday, August 28.
Anyone who was at the club for two hours or more between 6.15pm and 12.30am is considered a close contact, and must be tested for COVID-19 and self-isolate for 14 days until September 11, even if the result is negative.
Other patrons are considered casual contacts and should monitor symptoms and get tested and isolate if they appear.
Anyone who attended the following venues are considered casual contacts and should monitor symptoms and get tested immediately. After testing, they should remain in isolation until a negative result is received.
Those venues are Aldi North Strathfield on Tuesday, September 1 between 10am and 10.30am; and Bunnings Padstow on Thursday, August 27 between 12pm and 2pm.
There are 87 cases being treated by NSW Health, with 85 per cent of these cases being treated out of hospital. Seven patients are in intensive care and four are ventilated.
