Eight NBA players tested positive for the coronavirus last week

Eight NBA players tested positive for the coronavirus between Dec. 2 and Dec. 9, the NBA announced Thursday.

There were a total of 541 players tested.

Two of those players are likely from the Oklahoma City Thunder. On Dec. 6, head coach Mark Daigneault said that a pair of players were held out of practice due to positive COVID-19 tests.

Identities of those players were not released.

In total, there have been 56 players who have tested positive for the coronavirus since they returned to market and the league began testing began on Nov. 24.

Players who are confirmed positives are told to isolate until they are cleared.

The first preseason games begin Friday night. Oklahoma City starts its exhibition schedule on Saturday.
