There has been a further eight coronavirus deaths recorded at North East hospitals in the last 24 hours.
It was announced by the Government on Wednesday that there had been another 494 recorded in the UK overall bringing the death toll to 33, 196.
In the North East, the trust with the highest number of new deaths was South Tees with three.
The region's figure fell on Wednesday after there were 12 deaths recorded on both Monday and Tuesday.
