Drivers and passengers have been warned to stay in their cars after a serious crash on the M6.
Three lorries have crash ed on the motorway between junction 20 and junction 19, causing traffic to spill onto the M56.
The M6 section between the J20A Lymm interchange and J19 Northwhich has been closed by police in both directions as emergency services rush to the scene.

There is said to be around eight miles of traffic which is estimated to add around 50 minutes onto usual journey times in the area.
North West Motorway Police (NWMP) have been forced to issue a warning for people not to get out of their cars, after people have been spotted standing on the opposite side of the carriageway.
A NWMP spokesperson said: "Emergency vehicles are still responding to the incident on the M6 between J20 and J19.
"If you are held in the queue please remain with your vehicle. Being on the opposite carriageway or hard shoulder is not safe for you and delays crucial equipment getting to the scene."
One Twitter user, @Vafuncullo said: "WTF....Darwin award nominees stood on opposite carriageway."
Another @KayleighHassall added: "Air ambulances have to land near or on there you have to be an absolute moron to stand on the motorway if it's closed emergency vehicles could just whizz up."
Police have reported that two air ambulances are at the scene.
At this stage the extent of any injuries of those involved is not know.
