Former child star Adam Rich's cause of death has been revealed after the autopsy report is said to have found he had overdosed on fentanyl.
It's reported the LA County Medical Examiner's report states the actor died of an accidental overdose of the opioid.
TMZ also claims the report suggests he had non-toxic levels of alcohol and lorazepam in his system.
The news comes almost six months after Adam was found dead at the age of 54, with his body in a "state of mild decomposition". He was found inside the bathroom of his apartment by the block's manager.
Adam is best known for his role as Nicholas Bradford in sitcom Eight Is Enough. He played the character, who was the youngest son on the show, between 1977 and 1981.
He later turned his back on the world of showbiz in the 1980s after he is said to have grown tired of the media attention he received after starring in the show.
According to TMZ, Adam battled substance abuse issues and was arrested in 1991 after smashing a pharmacy window in a bid to obtain drugs.
At the time, he was bailed out by Dick Van Patten who played his TV dad on the hit show.
In 2003 he made a brief cameo back in the world of TV as he starred in the David Spade movie Dickie Roberts: Former Child Star.
He also made an appearance on Reel Comedy playing Crocodile Dundee.
As a child, Adam attended Chatsworth High School and was taught drama by the same teacher who also taught Hollywood icons Kevin Spacey and Val Kilmer.
His other acting credits include bit parts on shows such as The Six Million Dollar Man, The Love Boat, Fantasy Island, CHiPs, Silver Spoons, St. Elsewhere, Baywatch and Small Wonder.
He also played a bigger role in Code Red as well as shooting commercials products by for Betty Crocker and Nabisco as a young boy.
He also carried out voice-over work alongside his Eight Is Enough co-star Willie Aimes on the legendary Dungeons and Dragons.
