Eight homes broken into during spate of burglaries in Wythenshawe overnight

A teenage boy has been arrested following a spate of eight burglaries across Wythenshawe.

A number of victims reported an intruder having either entered their home or attempted to break in between Friday night and Saturday morning.

One woman said a burglar in a balaclava had entered her bedroom while she was asleep at around 5.30am before he was chased out by her partner.

It is believed the intruder managed to break-in properties by removing barrels in doors.

One victim shared an image of her barrel lock that appeared to have been cut completely in half.

It is believed at least two cars were stolen during the burglaries and possessions including a purse.

A suspect was arrested near the scene of the final break-in at around 5.30am, police said.

Emaciated dog found collapsed in woodland could have been blinded on purpose

3.29am - Robertscroft Close

3.35am - Falmer Drive

4.09am - Thornsgreen Road

5.16am - Bampton Road

Sometime between 8pm on 22 March and 8am on 23 March - Eldroth Avenue

A 16-year-old boy is currently being questioned by officers.

Enquiries into the circumstances of each incident are ongoing.
