Eight further Covid-19 deaths recorded in the past 24 hours in Northern Ireland

There have been 685 new positive cases of Covid-19 in the past 24 hours according to the Department of Health.

The department's daily dashboard says there have been eight further deaths recorded in the past day, bringing the death toll in Northern Ireland to 716.

In the past seven days there have been 5,145 individuals who have tested positive for the virus.

There are currently 361 inpatients in hospital infected with Covid-19 and 48 of these are in intensive care and 41 are using ventilators.

There are 12 unoccupied ICU beds in Northern Ireland.

Belfast has seen the largest increase in coronavirus cases in the past seven days with 1,141, followed by Mid Ulster with 662.

Mid Ulster has the highest infection rate per 100,000 people at 448.8.

To date, 39,116 individuals have tested positive for Covid-19 since the outbreak began.
