Eight staff at Trafford council are being paid more than £100,000 per year and two of which are on over £150,000.
The lowest salary of the eight staff members on at least this amount in total renumeration, including their yearly salary, pension contributions and expenses, is £106,626 for the corporate director of finance and systems (section 151 officer).
The highest amount is for the council’s chief executive Sara Todd, who all in received £204,173 a year, including pension and expenses.

The other members of staff receiving more than £100,000 in total renumeration are:
- Corporate director of children’s services – £154,639
- Corporate director of place – £144,505
- Corporate director of governance and community strategy – £144,426
- Corporate director of adult services – £143,539
- Corporate director of strategy and resources – £119,955
- Director of public health – £118,407
Nationally, at least 2,921 people employed by local councils in 2020-21 received more than £100,000 in total remuneration, an increase of 119 on 2019-20.
A total of 739 received over £150,000, 46 more than the previous year.
In Trafford both the chief executive and corporate director for children’s services are on more than this amount each year.
The figures, from the Tax Payers’ Alliance, are released every year.
In Greater Manchester, the highest paid council staff member is Stockport council’s executive director of adult social care and health, who is paid £440,927 per year – this included a £147,287 loss of job pay out.
Manchester city council was also the highest renumerated council of the city-region – with a total of 24 staff members paid more than £100,000 per year.
