SURAT THANI: A fire broke out at a car showroom of MG Surat Thani Company in Muang district of this southern province early on Sunday, destroying eight brand-new cars on display and causing about 55 million baht damage.
Police said seven fire engines from the Surat Thani and other municipalities were despatched to the showroom on Highway 420 in tambon Wat Pradu on receiving the fire alert.
The fire started at about 3.40am from the left wing of the showroom and spread quickly to engulf the entire building.
The firefighters took more than two hours to put out the fire. Eight brand-new cars on display were totally damaged.
The cause of the fire was being investigated. The damage to the property was estimated to be about 50 million baht.
