Eight bars forced to close at Principality Stadium just before Wales v South Africa as fans told not to linger

The Principality Stadium management have apologised after eight bars at the venue were forced to close just over an hour before Wales versus South Africa kick-off.

Wales face the Springboks in Cardiff in their second autumn international at the city centre ground.

The game is due to start at 5.30pm, but just after 4pm the official Principality Stadium Twitter account stated that "due to unprecedented last minute staff shortages" that eight bars - numbers 326, 333, 404, 414, 435,602, 622 and 636 - would not be operating.

"Due to unprecedented last minute staff shortages the following bars will not be open at the stadium today - 326, 333, 404, 414,435, 602, 622 and 636. We apologise for the inconvenience caused," they wrote.

"We anticipate the other bars will be busy, please bear with our staff. We have additional staff from other venues arriving during the day."

A message was also relayed to supporters inside the ground not to linger around the bar areas after purchasing their refreshments, while also reminding fans to wear masks when not at their seats.
