Eight arrested after police find cannabis crop north of Adelaide

Police officers located a "significant amount" of cannabis on the property.

Police in South Australia have arrested eight people after locating a "large" cannabis crop north of Adelaide.

SA Police (SAPOL) Northern District detectives arrived to search a property on Nemesis Court at Buckland Park just before 8:00am.

Officers witnessed several people running away from the property upon their arrival.

After setting up cordons, officers arrested eight people — a 50-year-old man from Burton and a 49-year-old woman from Mansfield Park, along with a 54-year-old woman, a 66-year-old woman, a 28-year-old man, a 39-year-old man, a 52-year-old man and a 45-year-old man, all from unknown addresses.

A search of the property led police to discover "a significant amount of cannabis plants" growing in glasshouses and hydroponically.

A "large amount" of dried cannabis was also seized.

Serious and Organised Crime Branch detectives and the Northern Districts criminal investigation branch are now investigating.

SAPOL has urged anyone with information about the crop to contact Crime Stoppers.
