The Eiffel Tower has been closed today after a man was spotted scaling up its side.
A picture which has emerged from the scene appears to show a man climbing the iconic French monument, reports The Mirror .
The official Eiffel Tower Twitter account said: "The tour Eiffel is currently closed until further notice.
"To avoid too long a wait, we advise our visitors to postpone their visit."

Police have arrived at the scene and are negotiating with the man, according to reports.
Initial reports suggested he had climbed more than 300m up the landmark.
