Head of the National Election Authority Counselor Lashin Ibrahim assured that elections in Sinai will run smoothly with no obstacles, knowing that a great number of judges have submitted to supervise elections.

The National Election Authority in Egypt unveiled procedures for the physically disabled to urge them to participate in the voting, via providing interpreters for the deaf and blind people.

Ibrahim said that Egypt had accumulated through the past years wide expertise in managing elections and in technical and logistic aspects in a way that competes with great democratic countries. He asserted the authority’s keenness over conveying its expertise to sisterly countries.

Regarding Egyptians residing in the country, voting lasts for three days starting March 26. Before that, on March 16, Egyptians abroad would have three days as well to vote.

Head of NEA affirmed, Wednesday, that the authority’s cooperation with Egypt's State Council in presidential elections falls within providing the council with the expertise required to perform its tasks.

Candidates running for presidential elections are: Egyptian President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi and Moussa Mustafa Moussa. But results seem to be settled in favor of Sisi who is after a second presidential term.

NEA Executive Director Alaa Fouad declared that the authority will ensure the participation of the physically disabled in the elections via dedicating the ground floor in all elections’ centers for them to vote.

Meanwhile, board members of NEA received a delegation from South Sudan's National Dialogue Steering Committee, Wednesday.

Spokesperson of the NEA Mahmoud Sherif said that the Sudanese committee delegation inquired about the Egyptian experience in establishing an independent national authority, in compliance with the constitution, that manages elections in Egypt whether presidential, parliamentary or local. “Establishing this committee is a pioneering experience,” Sherif said.
