Egypt's Minister of Housing said on Thursday he will self-isolate at home for 14 days after he accidentally came in contact with a coronavirus positive case.
Speaking to state’s Akhbar Al-Youm, Assem el-Gazar said he will isolate himself despite that he did not test positive for the virus, however, he took the decision for the sake of those in contact with him.
He said he found out that an attendee of one of the ministry's meetings that took place few days ago had contracted COVID-19.
Gazzar noted that he has not developed any symptoms so far and is following up on his work from home.
Earlier in May, Egyptian Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation Mohammad Abdel Aty announced that he will be self-isolating following a meeting with Daqahlia Governor Ayman Mokhtar, who has tested positive for coronavirus at the time.
