Egyptian blogger suffering in jail

A young Egyptian who has been in jail since November last year for "inciting hatred of Islam" and insulting the country's president on his blog is no longer allowed out of his cell. Abdel Kareem Nabil Suleiman, 22 (known by the pen-name of Kareem Amer), has also had his books confiscated. His health is deteriorating as a result of physical mistreatment, prompting the press watchdog Reporters Without Borders to call for his "immediate release" from a four-year sentence.
