Egypt vs Uruguay LIVE World Cup 2018: Is Mohamed Salah playing - latest score, goals and updates

Preparations for Egypt’s first World Cup finals match for 28 years have been overshadowed by the question of Mohamed Salah’s fitness.

The Liverpool superstar has been deemed fit to travel to Russia and yet it remains unclear how much of a factor his injured shoulder will allow him to be at the tournament.

Hector Cuper’s men have little margin for error at Central Stadium in Yekaterinburg. Uruguay are widely fancied as dark horses for World Cup 2018 and will be satisfied with nothing less than top spot in Group A.

14:56
FULL TIME: Egypt 0-1 Uruguay

A late, late goal from Jose Maria Gimenez breaks the heart of Egypt, who were without Mohamed Salah. Uruguay must improve if they are to reach the business end of the tournament
14:54
95 mins: Hegazi picks up a yellow for a stamp on Suarez as Uruguay stumble to victory
14:49
90 mins: GOAL! Egypt 0-1 Uruguay
It's heartbreak for Egypt! Gimenez with a brilliant header from a corner, the keeper can do nothing and Uruguay go wild! Surely they have won this now?
14:47
88 mins: POST! Cavani strikes a brilliant free kick, beats El Shenawy but the post denies him. Uruguay suddenly spark into life in the final moments...
14:46
87 mins: Free kick in a dangerous position for Uruguay, just outside the box. Meanwhile, Vecino is replaced by Torreira.
14:43
83 mins: SAVE! Suarez and Cavani combine with the latter striking a beautiful volley at El Shenawy who pulls off the save of the tournament so far. The resulting corner comes to nothing.
14:41
82 mins: Two breaks from Egypt in a matter of minutes, and they are crying out for Mo Salah. A lack of good decision making has seen decent chances squandered.

Salah will remain on the bench for this one, as Amr Warda is replaced by Ramadan Sobhi in Egypt's final change of the afternoon.
14:37
78 mins: Can either side find a breakthrough? If anything Uruguay look the more dangerous, and will remain so until the end with Cavani and Suarez on the field
14:33
72 mins: Mohamed Fathy drives a shot with real power at Muslera who manages to hold onto it. Egypt certainly not playing for a draw.

At the other end Suarez is through one-on-one with El Shenawy but the 'keeper does brilliantly to snatch the ball away without conceding a penalty, with Suarez looking for any sign of contact
14:29
70 mins: Corner for Uruguay and after a scramble in the box Egypt have the free kick, as a wayward Cavani shot seemed to striker Martin Caceres on the arm.
14:26
67 mins: We've settled back into a bit of a lull after the substitutions, with no clear opportunities presenting themselves.

Is this a script written for Mo Salah?
14:22
62 mins: Marwan Mohsen makes way for Kahbara for Egypt
14:20
58 mins: Double sub for Uruguay
Carlos Sanchez and Cristian Rodriguez enter the field of play, with Oscar Tabarez wanting more from his side
14:15
57 mins: Trezeguet fires a shot from long range, and misses the target by a considerable margin. Egypt lacking that bit of composure that comes from major tournament experience.
14:13
55 mins: Both sides seem eager to find the opening goal, with more direct attacking play in the opening 10 minutes of the half. Mohamed Elneny growing into the game for Egypt
14:09
50 mins: Tarek Hamed OFF for Egypt with what seems to be a back injury and Wigan's Sam Morsy replaces him. A big chance for the Latics captain, but a blow for Egypt to lose Hamed
14:06
46 mins: El Sherawy with a BIG save! Gets out well to narrow the angle for Suarez, and that's probably as much excitement as we saw in all of the first half.
14:04
SECOND HALF: Egypt get us back underway, no changes as of yet for either side
14:02
Some further analysis on the first half, anyone expecting five second half goals? No me neither. Russia will be watching this one with glee.
