
Egypt announced on Monday it was increasing the number of COVID-19 vaccination centers.
Health Ministry Spokesman Khalid Mujahid said that Giza will soon witness the inauguration of a large vaccination center that can receive up to 10,000 people.
This center would be similar to Cairo International Convention Center east of Cairo.
The Ministry has opened 414 coronavirus vaccination centers across the country.
It added that it was preparing to open 179 international inoculation centers for travelers. It explained that people should sign up to these centers through the dedicated online platform and present proof of their imminent travel.
Egypt has so far received 5.6 million doses of the AstraZeneca, Sinopharm and Sinovac vaccines.
Ayman Abul-Ela, deputy chair of parliament’s Human Rights Committee, urged citizens to continue to comply with health measures despite the drop in infections.
The Health Ministry confirmed on Monday 532 new coronavirus cases, 30 deaths and 456 more recoveries.
