Egypt Imposes Strict Measures on Arrivals

Egypt has imposed strict COVID-19 restrictions on all of the country’s entry points, where access without PCR will be granted only to those who received their second vaccine dose at least 14 days before arrival.

The Egyptian Health Ministry said that 242 new infections were detected Thursday, raising the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 281,524.

In a statement, the Health Ministry said 25 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 16,194.

As many as 675 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving the necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 212,059 so far.

Health Minister Hala Zayed affirmed that both Egyptians and foreigners arriving from countries with virus variants will be required to take the DNA test.

The rapid DNA examination is one of the most accurate and efficient forms of testing to detect potential COVID-19 infections.

Further, the Ministry urged Egyptians to register for vaccination through the dedicated website, stressing the safety of the vaccines.
