The Egyptian cabinet dismissed Wednesday reports purporting privatization of government services related to the health, education, and transport sectors, under the Law “Regulating Private Sector Participation.”

The cabinet further asserted commitment to offering services in health, education, and transport on a regular basis to citizens.

The cabinet's media center noted that the law aims to engage the private sector in executing infrastructure projects to improve services provided to citizens and alleviate the state's financial burdens.

The mechanisms and procedures of the law don’t lead to privatization, the cabinet assured.

Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli called for fast-tracking the implementation of projects in the New Administrative Capital (NAC).

The PM toured Wednesday NAC to follow up on the implementation of various projects.

He began the visit by holding a meeting at the cabinet headquarters, stressing that the volume of construction taking place is huge.

Madbouli indicated that there is a mandate from Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi for construction to meet international standards.

The meeting discussed main and technological infrastructure in the government district, which includes buildings for the Council of Ministers, the House of Representatives, the Senate, and the Administrative Control Authority, in addition to 34 other state institutions.
