
Egyptian forces are ready to defend “Egypt's national security and secure its borders on all strategic directions, no matter the sacrifices,” announced Defense Minister Lieutenant-General Mohamad Zaki.
Speaking at the 155th graduation ceremony of the College of Egyptian Reserve Officers, Zaki praised the sacrifices made by “the armed forces and the police” who are doing their utmost to preserve the stability of the country and eradicate terrorism.
The batch is named in honor of reserve officer Abdullah Mahmoud Isawi Ibrahim who was martyred during counter-terrorism operations in North Sinai.
Zaki further conveyed the greetings of President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi to the batch, asserting that the Armed Forces personnel support the State institutions to continue the march of development and implement mega projects.
The Minister called on the graduates to work together and continue to learn the newest in the fields of science and knowledge, as well as taking advantage of the scientific and military capabilities of the armed forces and the expertise of their leaders.
The ceremony included a presentation on the graduates’ research activities and innovations, and a number of innovations and engineering applications that can be used in the military and civil fields.
There was also a presentation on the technical research done in the fields of engineering, medicine, economy, military, agriculture, and environment.
As per the military tradition, groups of students from the Reserve Officers marched in the military parade led by the flag carriers, reflecting the students' high level of commitment and military discipline.
During the ceremony, the minister awarded the top graduates with the Medal of Military Duty – Second Class which was approved by Sisi, in recognition of their outstanding performance.
