Egg optical illusion puts your IQ to the test as 95% fail the challenge

It may be easy to assume that your brain and eyes work together in perfect harmony. But that is not always the case.

And a great way to put that ability to the test is by tackling an optical illusion. The tricky pictures can assess your problem solving skills and help you think more efficiently by giving your mind a mental work out.

Being able to solve the test quickly is actually a sign of intelligence or a high IQ. So with Easter weekend upon us, why not take on the on theme challenge with this egg optical illusion?

The brain teaser has left many scratching their heads, reports the Mirror, as they are tasked with trying to work out how many eggs are in the picture above. It is a bit trickier than you first think!

The picture requires you to think outside of the box, asking your brain to consider more than what you can actually see.

And according to The Sun, a huge 95 per cent of people will fail the test, with the 5 per cent successful boating a high IQ.

How many eggs are in the optical illusion?

Warning as spoilers to follow!

If your first guess was 16, you are unfortunately incorrect. You have to consider what your eyes cannot see in order to count all the eggs.

If you need a little help, do not fret. The easiest way to tackle the illusion is starting from the bottom and thinking about how many eggs you would see if the image was in 3D.

For example, the bottom is four eggs by four, which means there are 16 on the bottom level alone.

The next is three by three, giving you nine, with level three two by two and the top showing a single egg.

So in total, that would give you 16 + 9 + 4 + 1, 30 eggs in total.

If you fancy testing your brain some more, why not try to find the bunny hiding amongst the eggs in this Easter themed brain teaser.
