EFL release latest coronavirus test results confirming three positive Championship samples

The EFL have released the latest set of coronavirus test results, with three individuals from two Championship clubs testing positive.

A total of 2,858 players and club staff from the 24 second tier sides have been tested over the past week, with just three positives samples being returned.

As is the procedure, the EFL have not named any individuals or clubs that have returned positive tests, with the individuals concerned now self-isolating in line with their guidelines.

In Leagues One and Two, 297 and 271 individuals were tested from the eight playoff sides, with zero positive responses.

This latest batch of results come after Brentford head coach Thomas Frank confirmed that his winger Bryan Mbeumo missed out on Saturday's Lond derby victory over Fulham after he received a positive test.

"That's a confirmed test for Bryan," Frank confirmed to Sky Sports prior to the Bees' 2-0 win at Craven Cottage..

"The only reason why we didn't want to tell anybody was of course everyone knows he would most likely have stated today if he was negative. No symptoms, fit and well, so unfortunately he of course needs to isolate to keep everything in the right place for a safe environment. The good thing is our training ground is the safest place to be, because the next test everyone was negaitve.

"It's just unfortunate, but that's the way it it."
