EFL release latest coronavirus test results confirming no positive samples

The EFL have released their latest set of coronavirus test results after tests took place across all three divisions over the last week.

A total of 3136 players and club staff from the 24 second-tier sides have been tested over the past week, with no new cases being confirmed.

In Leagues One, 381 individuals were tested from the eight playoff sides, with no new positive cases being confirmed.

While in League Two, 38 players and Club staff were tested over the course of the past week with zero individuals testing positive.

“The EFL can confirm that 3136 players and Club staff from the 24 Championship Clubs were tested over the course of the past week with zero individuals testing positive,” a statement from the EFL read.

Before adding on League One and Two: “The EFL can confirm that 381 players and Club staff were tested from five League One Clubs over the course of the past week with zero individuals testing positive.

“The EFL can confirm that 38 players and Club staff were tested from one League Two Club over the course of the past week with zero individuals testing positive.”

It is also understood that the EFL are conducting tests twice a week at clubs in the Championship.

While a number of League One and League Two clubs are testing players and staff as they return to training.

The EFL have also confirmed that it will continue to make a central announcement of Covid-19 test results every Wednesday at midday to continue to support competition integrity and transparency.
