Swindon Town fans can finally see light at the end of the tunnel, after the EFL gave the thumbs-up to prospective new owner Clem Morfuni.
Australian businessman Morfuni has been locked in a battle to purchase the club from current owner Lee Power.
And now the EFL have said that the move is all good to go, with Mr Morfuni understood to have travelled to the UK to complete the deal for the beleaguered League Two side.
Last week, Mirror Sport reported on how the club's Supporters' Trust were pleading for the deal to be done - and it now looks only a matter of time before their wish comes true.
The League released a statement last night, saying: "The EFL is today in a position to confirm it has issued consent to the acquisition of the additional shares in Swindon Town by Mr Clem Morfuni in accordance with EFL Regulations, and it is now a matter for the shareholders to conclude any associated transactions.
"The EFL is looking forward to working with the new ownership as they seek to ensure a successful and viable long-term future for the club.
"In addition to these developments, the League continues to review a number of matters relating to the previous ownership arrangements at the club."
The takeover, when it happens, cannot come soon enough for the Robins.
They are without a manager and have only a handful of players contracted, with the new campaign starting in just two-and-a-half weeks.
The club, relegated from League One last season, is also being faced with a threat of legal action from the town's borough council over outstanding rent on the County Ground whilst there have also been reports of players and staff not being paid in full or on time.
Morfuni is believed to already have a chief executive, director of football and a list of potential managers lined up once the green light is given.
