EFL Cup final 2019
Chelsea vs Man City
Wembley Stadium
Sunday February 24, 4.30pm
Man City will take on Chelsea with the first piece of silverware of the season up for grabs in the EFL Cup final.
A 10-0 aggregate victory over Burton Albion saw City saunter into February’s final. They are back at Wembley in this competition for the third time in four years, having swatted Arsenal away to lift the trophy last year.
Chelsea meanwhile trailed to Tottenham after the first-leg of their all-London affair. But goals from N'Golo Kante and Eden Hazard hauled them back into the contest with David Luiz scoring the decisive spot kick in a thrilling penalty shoot-out.
Maurizio Sarri is in a final in his first season in English football and is out to win his first piece of silverware as a manager.
Team line-ups and injury news
Chelsea goalkeeper Kepa Arrizabalaga is a doubt for Sunday’s clash with the Spaniard suffering with a hamstring injury.
Sarri revealed that the 24-year-old sustained the injury during the FA Cup defeat to Man Utd, and Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero is on standby.
City, meanwhile, are awaiting on the progress of John Stones and Gabriel Jesus.
The pair missed the midweek Champions League tie with Schalke and stayed behind in Manchester to undergo treatment, with Stones suffering a groin strain and Jesus a pulled hamstring.
