Livingston want to bring Efe Ambrose back to Scotland.
The Lions are keen on the former Celtic and Hibs defender and have already held talks.
Livi are keen to strengthen their backline in this window and boss Gary Holt wants to land the 31-year-old.
Ambrose, who has also attracted interest from St Johnstone, has been without a club since he left Derby County in the summer.
The former international has been keeping fit by playing and training with his local club back in Nigeria.
Livi are also want to land Motherwell keeper Trevor Carson on a pre-contract.
The Northern Ireland international is out of contract with the Steelmen at the end of the season.
