Eerie footage was captured of a derelict church left to decay.
St Thomas Church on Chapel Street in Leigh, Wigan, was forced to close its doors back in 2013. It was built between 1902 and 1910 to replace the the original St Thomas’ Church, which was consecrated in 1840.
The church had to close after problems with asbestos and electrics were found, which would cost £1.5m to fix. It has since fallen into disrepair and targeted by vandals and fires.

The grade II listed building has since gone up for sale. But footage taken by by urban explorer Daniel Sims - known as BeardedReality on social media shows a glimpse inside the historic building.
In the 15 minute video uploaded to his YouTube channel, Daniel takes a tour around the premises with friends. The video begins with Daniel and friends walking through the grounds of the church where rubbish is strewn everywhere.
One fascinating parts of the video, was showing how the pew and other parts of the church remained untouched and in the same place as they were before. Ornate woodwork and stain glass windows also decorate the church and remain there.
There were also war memorial plaques for fallen soldiers left inside the church. Photos taken by Daniel showed stone carvings in the shape of an animals and also the corpse of peacock which appears to have wandered into the church.
Speaking about his visit to the church, Daniel told the ECHO: "The place itself was quite spooky but was definitely amazing to see as such a place should be open and used not left to rot away. The war memorial plaques were especially interesting as well as how gigantic the place was."
