Eerie drone footage shows Bristol looking like a ghost town amid coronavirus lockdown

A Bristol videographer has released eerie drone footage showing Bristol looking like a ghost town during the coronavirus lockdown.

Harry Neubert's video, which has had thousands of views since being shared on social media, includes a number of well-known locations across the city looking unusually quiet.

Bristol Temple Meads, Park Street, Millennium Square and other areas normally bustling are seen desolate, as people follow the government's advice and stay indoors to help prevent the spread of the virus.

The one-minute video also includes stunning aerial shots of Bristol landmarks such as Clifton Suspension Bridge and Cabot Tower.

Harry, who works as a graphic designer alongside running his own filming company called Neusreel, explained why he wanted to film the city looking empty.

He said: "I've lived in Bristol for over 12 years now and love it here.

"When I initially saw how quiet it was everywhere I couldn't believe how different the city felt, especially in usually bustling areas.

"I used my allocated outdoor time to head to a couple of destinations each day for a week with my drone and managed to capture some pretty unique perspectives.

"I feel that the shots highlight the amazing unity of the residents of Bristol, which doesn't surprise me in the slightest as the sense of community in this city is just amazing.

"The video has been received beyond any expectation and I am so grateful for all of the lovely feedback."

Harry said the video was shared by Bristol City Council, which he is grateful to for "the work they are doing keeping the city running at this difficult time".

He added that all drone lift-offs last week took place in open areas, far away from the few people he saw walking around, to ensure he adhered to social distancing measures.
