Parramatta hooker Rueben Cherrington has been cleared of biting, after being accused of the foul play by the match review committee.

Cherrington fronted the judiciary on Tuesday night, where she maintained her innocence following the direct referral by review officials over the weekend.

There, the judiciary panel found the Eels hooker did not bite Canterbury forward Holli Wheeler, late in the Eels' 46-14 win over the Bulldogs on Friday night.

No on-field allegation had been made by Wheeler and there was no obvious reaction from the Bulldog as she made a tackle under the posts.

But the review panel noted the incident when they viewed replays on Saturday morning, with Cherrington's mouth going near Wheeler's wrist in the hit up.

The Eels narrowly missed out on qualifying for this year's finals, meaning the judiciary's decision has no bearing on the rest of this season.

But Cherrington will be able to start next year with the Eels without any ban hanging over her head.
