Manchester United legend Edwin van der Sar is favourite to replace Ed Woodward at Old Trafford.
The Reds announced on Tuesday night that Woodward is to leave his role as United's executive vice-chairman after eight years amid backlash from supporters over the controversial proposals that included the club in the European Super League.
Woodward is expected to leave his role in the summer, but speculation has already begun over his successor.
The MEN have suggested three such candidates that could become United's new executive vice-chairman, and the bookmakers have also wasted no time compiling a list of potential applicants for the role.
Betfair have made United legend Van der Sar favourite to replace Woodward, and that news will be warmly welcomed by supporters with the Dutchman having long being linked with the role after his success in the Ajax boardroom.
Van der Sar has stood as Ajax's CEO for five years after initially acting as the club's marketing director and while the former United goalkeeper remains a hugely popular figure with supporters, his credentials for the job are obvious.
Interestingly, Leonardo Araujo, Gary Neville and Zinedine Zidane are then the market leaders after Van de Sar to succeed Woodward, although the latter certainly seems incredibly far fetched and highly unlikely.
Rafael Benitez and Jose Mourinho are also longshots in the market.
