Edwin James Group acquires Peak42

Glasgow-headquartered engineering services business Edwin James has bought Peak42, a control and automation technology services firm which employs 50 engineers and has four offices in England.

Peak42, with offices in Warrington, Reading, Newcastle and Chesterfield, provides engineering consultancy services, performance management solutions and system integration services within the manufacturing and utilities industries.

The acquisition of Peak42 follows Edwin James Group’s recent purchase of Jex Engineering, now Jex Process Services, as part of its ambitions to become a market-leading and sustainable engineering services operator.

Edwin James Group has a UK-wide workforce of more than 1,000 employees and was established by investment firm Aliter Capital in 2017. Following a series of acquisitions, the group said it has implemented an ambitious growth strategy which has seen it rationalise several key businesses into two service offerings: technical services and process services.

Derek Smith, CEO of Edwin James Group, said: “Peak42 has successfully established itself as a key player in the industry and its services complement those of our existing business, making it a strong addition to the process services part of Edwin James Group.”

It said the senior management team at Peak42 will remain at the forefront of the business and will work closely with the Edwin James leadership team to ensure its smooth and efficient integration.
