Edward Colston statue back in storage at Bristol museum

These pictures show the infamous Edward Colston statue in storage at a Bristol museum - after it was removed from public view.

The infamous effigy now lies flat on its back and unseen - days after four people were cleared of pulling it down.

Onlookers say it now sits next to steam engine parts and 'old chocolate wrappers' at the M Shed museum.

Reports say staff removed the statue from general view recently ''in line with a visitor survey''.

It was put in the store room in the adjoining L Shed just days before 'The Colston Four' were cleared at Bristol Crown Court.

Visitors can still see the statue - but only by booking a place on a behind-the-scenes tour.

Sage Willoughby, Rhian Graham, Milo Ponsford and Jake Skuse were all found not guilty last week after pulling it down during a BLM protest.
