'Educate your child' - Police message as youths throw poo at passing cars near park

Parents are being urged to "educate" their children as youths are hiding in a hedge and throwing dog poo at passing cars.

The reports are coming from near Granby Park on Cotmanhay Road in Ilkeston.

Police say children have been hiding behind a hedge and throwing bags of dog faeces and stones at cars which are passing by.

The force are appealing for information as they see this has been happening across multiple days and say that if your child plays on the park, they should be educated on the dangers of these sorts of actions.

A spokesperson for Ilkeston Police said: "If you are a witness or have been affected by this please contact Derbyshire Constabulary on 101.

"If you let your child play on Granby Park or in the area please educate your child of the dangers and consequences to this.

"Erewash Borough Council have been contacted to clean up the mess and empty the bins in the area."
