Edu's £42m Arsenal transfer warning ahead of January can prevent Matteo Guendouzi repeat

Arsenal have been given a double warning if they are to continue the pursuit for Club Brugge winger, Noa Lang.

Former Inter Milan midfielder Radja Nainggolan has criticised the attitude of the winger, which is a problem that Mikel Arteta worked hard on eradicating at Arsenal.

Reiss Nelson scored his first Feyenoord goal in the UEFA Conference League on Thursday evening, reminding the north London side that he could be the answer to a potential winger crisis that is emerging at the club.

Meanwhile, Lang had been linked with a move to the club after impressing in the early stages of the Champions League.

However, Arteta has now been warned about completing the deal by Nainggolan. “But no matter how good he may be, I can’t stand him. Always gesticulating with his hands and protesting.”

“Shutting everyone up after he was invisible for five matches… these are things I can’t live with. If he kept his feet on the ground, he’d be twice as good,” he said via Het Nieuwsblad.

These quotes from the former Belgian midfielder will certainly be of interest to Arteta, who has ensured to remove any attitude problems away from Arsenal.

This was proved with the sale of Matteo Guendouzi, as the Frenchman had been constantly criticised for his questionable attitude which was seen by fans after his antics against Brighton in 2020 following his altercation with Neal Maupay.

Arteta never gave him a Premier League start after this and shipped him out on loan to German side Hertha Berlin as soon as the transfer window opened.

The same situation followed with Mesut Ozil, which is why the club mutually agreed to terminate his contract.

The signing of Lang has also been put in doubt due to the emergence of Nelson at Feyenoord.

The Hale End academy graduate joined the Dutch side on loan after it seemed as though his game time at Arsenal was going to be very limited this season.

However, Nicolas Pepe has fallen out of favour under Arteta and with Gabriel Martinelli constantly bothered by injury issues, Nelson's form could open the door for more opportunities at the Emirates if he continues to impress during his loan stint.

The possibility of Lang signing keeps decreasing, as his attitude problems are starting to be exposed. Whilst Nelson’s emergence also adds further doubt to the transfer.
