Edu receives Miguel Azeez response as Arsenal Invincible joins Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace

Welcome to our football.london The Arsenal Way daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done transfer round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all.

Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Pompey respond to Azeez warning

Portsmouth appeared to respond to Arsenal's latest Miguel Azeez warning last night after they gave him some rare minutes during their 1-1 draw with Cheltenham.

The 19-year-old joined the League One side on a season-long loan deal in the summer but has only made two appearances in all competitions so far.

Azeez's 17-minute spell on the pitch yesterday comes after football.london reported Arsenal are considering whether or not to recall the youngster due to the lack of playing time he is currently receiving.

Our view: The situation with Azeez is obviously far from ideal. He is a big talent, has lots of potential and simply needs to be playing games.

Arsenal are right to be concerned, two appearances so far this season is unacceptable and his development must be a priority right now.

Hopefully, last night's involvement is a sign that he will be used a lot more in the coming weeks. But if the situation does not change, the Gunners will have no choice but to cancel the loan.

One invincible joins another at Palace

Sol Campbell has announced he will spend some time with former Arsenal teammate Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace.

The former Gunners and England defender left Southend United by 'mutual consent' last year and is now taking his time before he goes back into the managerial role.

"I am travelling to different clubs, watching managers around Europe and learning," Campbell said at a web summit in Lisbon, via the Daily Mail. "So when it does happen, it happens, I am there, I am not rusty. You always have to be thinking ahead.

"I have got some friends in football, I am going to see Patrick Vieira at Crystal Palace. I am really happy for him. You can learn from these guys, that is what you have to do."

Our view: The managerial job in football is not an easy one, and it certainly hasn't been plane sailing for Sol so far.

It will do him some good by meeting up with Vieira who is still learning a lot himself and I'm sure it will give Campbell some valuable skills to take into his next job.

As an Arsenal fan, it's nice to see former teammates still get on today and I'm confident both of them will go on to achieve great things, just as they did when playing.

Emery turns down Newcastle approach

Former Arsenal Head Coach Unai Emery was the leading candidate to take over at Newcastle United following Steve Bruce's departure.

However, the Spaniard has today announced that he will be staying at Villarreal.

Emery is understood to have held talks with the Newcastle hierarchy about a potential return to the Premier League but was wary of departing Spain where he is now settled.

Talks will most likely now continue with former Bournemouth manager Eddie Howe, who is seen as an alternative option.

Our View: There was a point yesterday when I thought the world of football had gone crazy, firstly Antonio Conte arrives at Spurs and then Emery is being linked with a move to St. James' Park.

I certainly don't think it would have been a bad appointment. Despite the disappointing ending at Arsenal, I still believe Unai is a good manager. He had some bright moments at the Emirates but it just wasn't the right fit in the end.

At the same time, I can see why he has taken the decision he has. Sure, he would have likely received significant financial backing but he's also enjoying a rather successful time at Villarreal where he has recently won the Europa League. Newcastle would have easily been his biggest challenge yet and I'm not sure it would have worked out.
