Arsenal are expected to be busy in the summer transfer window.
As previously reported by football.london , the Gunners are hopeful of strengthening their first-team squad with up to five new signings following a disappointing 2020/21 season in which they finished eighth in the Premier League and were knocked out of the Europa League at the semi-final stage.
Signing new goalkeeper, a brand new pair of full-backs on both flanks, a central midfielder and an attacking midfielder are Mikel Arteta and Edu's top priorities ahead of the new season.
Although, recent rumours would suggest that Arsenal could sign up to six players amid links to Real Sociedad and Sweden striker Alexander Isak.
With that said, there's also expected to be several players moved on this summer.
Matteo Guendouzi, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Eddie Nketiah and Hector Bellerin are just a few names being tipped to leave the Emirates Stadium as the Gunners look to raise £100m via player sales.
And a 'transfer decision' has been made that would suggest that the north London outfit mean business in regards to their aim to reach the aforementioned target.
According to RomaPress, Arsenal have rejected another offer from AS Roma for midfielder Granit Xhaka.
This is said to be the second time in which the Serie A side have increased their bid only to see it rejected and will see how the situation evolves as they do not intend to raise their offer.
Furthermore, the report does states that there was hope that a deal would be in place by the weekend, but that two clubs remain locked in negotiations.
Roma's offer has not been disclosed, but it would appear it has not matched Arsenal's £20m valuation of the Switzerland international.
football.london understands Xhaka has already agreed personal terms with Roma, but he has refused to be drawn on his future.
"There are always rumours as soon as the transfer market opens but I don't want to talk about my future," he told a press conference ahead of Switzerland's 1-1 draw with Wales at Euro 2020.
"I want to keep that until the end of the tournament and what happens afterwards you will then get to know about it.
"Everything else doesn't distract me. I'm fit and motivated and I'm looking forward to doing a lot of things.
"This tournament is very important to the team and to Switzerland and we want to show it with good performances here."
