Edu is in talks to complete Arsenal's next summer transfer deal amid £75m triple signing

Runar Alex Runarsson looks set to be the next player to leave Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

Despite no new signings yet, Mikel Arteta has lost four first-team players already as David Luiz left after his contract expired and Martin Odegaard, Mat Ryan and Dani Ceballos have returned to their parent clubs following loan spells.

In terms of permanent outgoings, only Konstantinos Mavropanos has departed the Emirates Stadium so far after he rejoined Bundesliga outfit Stuttgart for another loan spell.

The Greece international is likely to be followed out of the door at Arsenal by Matteo Guendouzi as well as William Saliba - both set to join Marseille - while it's just a fee that needs to be agreed with AS Roma for Granit Xhaka's exit to be confirmed.

And the fifth imminent departure looks set to be Runarsson.

The goalkeeper only arrived in north London last summer from Ligue 1 side Dijon, but came in for criticism following the Carabao Cup quarter-final loss against Manchester City, when he was at fault for two of the goals.

Interestingly, Mikel Arteta hinted that signing Runarsson was a mistake after admitting Gunners could not do what they “really wanted to” in terms of finding a replacement for Emiliano Martinez.

"The discussion we had in the summer within the club are a little bit different to what actually happened because of the transfer window and the situation that developed with Emi," Arteta said.

"We didn’t have much time to do what we really wanted to do and we decided to assess the situation in this window which is what we are trying to do and we will make a decision on how we want to move forward in those three positions."

But it would appear that Arsenal are going to look to try and address this at the earliest opportunity.

According to Goal, Runarsson is close to leaving Arsenal as he is in talks over a move to Altay Spor in Turkey and the deal, which is still to be finalised, could be permanent.

With that said, it's not just sales that Arteta and Edu are working on.

As reported by football.london, the Gunners are close to sealing a £75m triple transfer swoop for Ben White, Nuno Tavares and Albert Sambi Lokonga.

But with all those deals in play, it's certainly shaping up to be a busy summer for the north London outfit.
