Edu identifies £13m Brazil ace for January deal as Arsenal repeat Martinelli transfer model

Arsenal can repeat the success of Gabriel Martinelli by signing another Brazilian forward with bags of potential.

According to Jeunes Footeux, The Gunners have entered the chase for FC Basel forward Arthur Cabral, who is valued at £13m per Transfermarkt.

Mikel Arteta’s side have an emerging striker crisis brewing at the club, and bringing in a forward should be seen as a priority.

Edu had major success with the last Brazilian bargain to join the club in Gabriel Martinelli, and this could be repeated.

Cabral has had an excellent season far in Switzerland scoring 14 goals in 17 league games, which is coinciding with his five goals in six UEFA Conference League matches.

He is still only 23-years-old, which means he is not yet close to reaching his peak age, so there is still plenty of room for improvement on his impressive statistics.

Liverpool and Newcastle are also reportedly interested in signing the striker, highlighting the interest from the rest of the world, and that he can be a player of top quality.

Arsenal is in desperate need of a striker, especially after it emerged that Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been left out of three consecutive matchday squads, after a breach in disciplinary rules.

This has put the 32-year-old’s future in doubt, and it gets even more daunting when you consider Eddie Nketiah and Alexandre Lacazette’s contracts are set to expire in the summer, and it seems like a certainty that both strikers will be departing.

The Gunners realistically need to sign two forwards in the upcoming windows, and Cabral would be an excellent backup striker, which would give him to mature as a top-class striker.

£13m is an absolute steal, and his Brazilian background gives fans nostalgia of the bargain price paid for Martinelli, which cost Edu just £6m.

If Cabral can replicate Martinelli’s tenure at Arsenal, then he would become an instant fan-favourite at the Emirates stadium, as his passion and energetic approach on the pitch has been adored by the Gunners’ fans.
