Arsenal technical director Edu has openly spoken about the club's plans for the January transfer window, amid the Gunners' worst ever start to a Premier League season.
Mikel Arteta's side were beaten 1-0 by Burnley on Sunday, making it four consecutive home defeats in the top flight.
The results have heaped pressure on Arsenal boss Arteta, with the Spaniard struggling to inspire his side in the same fashion as the end of last season, which culminated in a FA Cup win over Chelsea.
Speculation has intensified about his position but Edu has publicly offered his backing to the Gunners boss this week.
In an interview conducted on Monday but arranged before the Burnley loss, Edu said via Sky Sports: "Relaxing is too much. Just believe. Internally here, listen, we are doing well.
"My main message is that we are not talking about only one person, it is unfair to talk about Mikel, or Aubameyang because he is not scoring goals, or (goalkeeper, Bernd) Leno because he has to stop the goals.
"It is unfair to talk about one person, we are a football team, we have to talk about ourselves, talk about "we" and not "him" so that for me is the main message.
"The way I see things is very simple. It's normal and easy to be driven by the results. But for me, the main point is when I see something in which I can see the future, see where we go, the way we're building things, starting to see it on a daily basis.
"So the way we work, the way we train, the way we behave internally, if you see the quality of the work, if you see the quality of the people, if you see properly what's happening here on a daily basis, it's nothing to compare with the results."
Arsenal's results have seen renewed calls from supporters for the club to strengthen in the January transfer window.
The Gunners spent big in the summer, bringing in Thomas Partey and Gabriel for considerable fees, however Edu has now admitted that Arsenal's squad is still short in one department.
At the Arsenal fans’ forum on Tuesday evening, Edu answered questions from supporters, with one focusing on the club's plans for the upcoming window.
"It’s quite clear what we need," Edu said. "We need a player with creativity in the middle, we don’t have that in the squad right now."
The Gunners are thought to have missed out on top target Houssem Aouar in the summer transfer window, with Lyon holding out for a higher fee than offered.
Arsenal have also been interested in RB Salzburg midfielder Dominik Szoboszlai, as first reported by football.london, but reports in Germany claim the Hungarian international is close to agreeing a deal to join RB Leipzig next month.
