Edu has already decided on Arsenal's next three moves after fifth signing sealed

Arsenal sealed the return of Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos last week, signing the Spanish midfielder on loan for the second season in succession.

The former Real Betis star enjoyed a fruitful stint whilst at the Emirates Stadium last season and his return to north London took Arsenal's tally of new additions for the summer to five, with deals having already been concluded for Cedric Soares and Pablo Mari, who were both on loan at Arsenal last term.

Defender Gabriel Magalhaes has also joined the Gunners for £25million, as well as Willian.

Ceballos' return to the Emirates Stadium has significantly bolstered the club's midfield options, with the midfielder having played a key role in the engine room for Arsenal last term, racking up 37 appearances in all competitions.

Thomas Partey boost as Houssem Aouar bid rejected - Arsenal rumours

Though the 24-year-old has returned to North London, Arteta remains keen to strengthen his central-midfield options even further, with the tightly-packed fixture schedule this season likely to demand a greater strength in depth being required.

It has been well documented for much of this year that the Gunners are very keen on signing Atletico Madrid midfield enforcer Thomas Partey.

The Ghana international has been one of the most consistent topics as far as this summer's transfer window is concerned and Arsenal remain keen to lure him to England.

Partey is amongst Arsenal's leading transfer targets but he will not be sold by Atletico unless his £45million release clause is triggered.

Arsenal have explored other avenues, according to reports, in an attempt to sign the midfielder but they have so far come up short.

Nevertheless, Partey remains on Arsenal's radar and they remain in the hunt for his signature, though they are likely to have to offload one or two bodies before hand.

It is not just Partey, though, that is being linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium as far as the Gunners' midfield hunt is concerned, with Lyon sensation Houssem Aouar continuing to be heavily linked with a switch to North London.

The French midfielder, who reportedly wants to move to the Premier League, would offer vastly different qualities to Partey, with him being renowned as an attack-minded midfield operator. But if Arsenal are to stand any chance of landing him before next month's transfer deadline then they will once again have to cut their cloth.

There is, of course, plenty of speculation concerning the future of right-back Hector Bellerin, who could move on this summer. football.london understands that both Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain are interested in the defender, who is valued at around £35million.

As well as being eager to add at least one new central-midfielder to their ranks before the window closes, Arsenal remain optimistic about tying star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang down to a new contract.

The Gunners skipper, who scored a sublime goal in the FA Community Shield win over Liverpool, is on the cusp of putting pen to paper on a new deal and football.london undertstands that he is set to agree a new three-year deal worth £250,000-a-week.

Arsenal have never appeared concerned or worried that the former Borussia Dortmund striker will not pen a new contract, although an official announcement will no doubt put the supporters' minds at rest, as they, of course, do not want to lose their star asset.

Should Aubameyang commit his future to the club, it will allow Arteta, who has enjoyed a successful start to life at the Emirates Stadium, to plan the club's future around his main man.
