Edu given Renato Sanches incentive for Arsenal to complete Mikel Arteta's dream midfield

Renato Sanches proves that he will fit perfectly into Mikel Arteta’s side after the mentality he has shown with his latest comments.

Arsenal are 'very interested' in signing Lille midfielder Renato Sanches, according to recent reports. French outlet Le10sport claims that the Gunners have made their interest in Sanches known to the player, the club, and his representatives.

These links certainly seem to be true, as the Portuguese midfielder says he is ready to join the north London side.

Speaking to L’Equipe, Sanches said: “Maybe Milan and Arsenal are interested but I don’t know. I spoke with my agent, I know which clubs are calling me but I can’t say right now.

But I know I’m ready. If an offer comes in, I’ll find out what’s best for me.”

Arsenal have lacked a goalscoring midfielder from deep and Sanches would certainly fill that void if given the opportunity.

He has elements to Aaron Ramsey in his game, the way he is able to glide from one box to the other and he is pretty impressive in front of goal.

Mikel Arteta will be even more welcoming of him if Edu was able to secure his signature, due to the desire shown to join the club.

The Arsenal boss has previously stated how it is important that his players are always fully committed to the club, or they will not be part of the squad.

This has been proven with the sales of Mesut Ozil and Matteo Guendouzi since the Spaniard took over from Unai Emery.

Sanches is reportedly available for £25 million and at just 24-years-old, this would prove to be a bargain for the Gunners.

The only question that remains, is his ability to stay injury-free but if he does maintain his fitness then Sanches and Thomas Partey would create a pivot that rival fans would certainly fear.

It is a deal that would impress a lot of Arsenal supporters and the midfielder's recent comments have certainly boosted the chances of a transfer happening.
