Edu given chance to sign dream midfield duo as Arsenal get Serie A offer for Nicolas Pepe

AC Milan’s interest in Nicolas Pepe and Renato Sanches has gifted a wonderful opportunity for Arsenal to complete the signing of Franck Kessie.

According to Il Milanista, AC Milan want to sign Nicolas Pepe from Arsenal and could be prepared to pay the £25m asking price the Gunners have set.

Sanches is another player the Rossoneri are reported to be interested in, with the Gunners also said to be tracking his situation.

But Edu can use the Italian's side interest to his advantage and get a cut-price deal for Kessie, or even negotiate a player swap.

The Mirror have claimed that Arsenal, along with Manchester United, are interested in securing the Ivorian's services given he could be available for a cut-price in the January transfer window.

He has less than eight months remaining on his deal at San Siro and appears unlikely to extend his stay with the Serie A giants.

At just 24-years-old, Kessie already has tons of experience having played 182 games in Serie A and scoring 37 goals.

If Arsenal were to secure his signature, then his wage demands aren’t astronomical as he expects to be receiving around £146,000, according to reports in Italy.

The Gunners need to make a decision on Nicolas Pepe, whether they are to sell him or not.

At the end of the season, the Ivorian will have less than three years remaining on his contract, so to prevent the club from massively debunking his value they will have to offer him to other clubs or agree on a contract extension.

With him no longer featuring in Mikel Arteta’s plans, a contract extension seems likely at this moment of time.

So, the opportunity to sign Kessie is certainly an attractive option that Edu should look to pursue.

With both clubs looking to offload their players, a swap deal should not be out of the question.

Alternatively, if AC Milan were to also sign Sanches, then the window of opportunity to sign Kessie will be much less of a difficult task.

The Ivorian would be the perfect midfield partner for Thomas Partey and it is a transfer Arsenal should certainly look to complete.
