Edu closes in on completing transfer as Arsenal ace Aubameyang responds to Mikel Arteta decision

Here is your Arsenal morning digest for Wednesday, March 17.

Aubameyang trains ahead of Olympiacos clash

After being dropped from the starting line-up for Sunday's North London derby victory over Tottenham Hotspur at the Emirates Stadium, Arsenal captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang appears to have moved on from what happened.

The Gabon international was axed from the starting XI because of disciplinary issues, with Mikel Arteta - the Arsenal manager - handing the captaincy to Alexandre Lacazette in his absence.

But Arteta insisted that a line had been drawn underneath the situation and was keen to move on, as he wanted to concentrate on preparations for tomorrow's UEFA Europa League clash with Olympiacos.

And judging by Aubameyang's character during training at London Colney on Tuesday, he has most certainly moved on from what happened at the weekend.

He appeared to be in a buoyant mood, laughing and joking and donning a massive smile on his face.

Gunners handed N'Dicka advantage

Arsenal may have an upper hand in the race to sign Eintracht Frankfurt centre-back Evan N'Dicka this summer thanks to Nicolas Pepe.

The defender has been closely linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium in recent weeks after continuing to develop at a rapid rate of knots in the Bundesliga.

The 21-year-old is said to be currently valued at just under £20million, but it is claimed that anyone wishing to sign him will have to "dig deep."

However, Gunners ace Pepe could hand the north London club an advantage in the race to sign him because his agent is Michael N'Cho Ibou, who played a key role in helping Arsenal land Pepe in the summer of 2019.

With that in mind, Arsenal are aware of N'Cho Ibou and could be the front-runners in the race to sign N'Dicka this summer.

Youngster set for Arsenal exit

Gunners striker Luke Plange is edging closer to signing for Championship side Derby County, a report by Arsenal Youth claims.

The 18-year-old, who has scored seven times in 23 appearances for Arsenal at Under-18s level, has previously had a trial at QPR.

Now, though, after discovering that he will not be offered a deal by the Gunners, he looks poised to join Derby come the summer.

He is not set to be offered his first professional deal by Arsenal, meaning he looks set to be forced to drop down into the Championship in an attempt to make a name for himself.
