Edu closes in on £51m Arsenal transfer after president speaks out as La Liga deal is green lit

Welcome to our football.london The Arsenal Way daily news round-up. Maybe not the first, we've definitely done news round-ups before, and European round-ups, so I guess in some ways it's not that new at all. Anyway, we thought we would enter the world of football in a broad and roundabout manner for you and have some fun with some of the stories and captions doing the daily rounds.

Lacazette swap deal possible

Spanish outlet La Razon have reported that Arsenal will continue the restructuring of their team by being open to embark on a swap deal with La Liga side, Sevilla.

The report states that Arsenal wants to take advantage of Sevilla’s interest in Alexandre Lacazette in order to secure Youssef En-Nesyri as a replacement at the Emirates.

Lacazette’s contract at the North London club ends in 2023 and if he doesn’t sign a new deal that keeps him longer with the Gunners - an exit could well be in the mix.

Sevilla are said to be looking for a striker replacement in January with En-Nesyri playing in the Africa Cup Of Nations at around the same time.

Inter not interested in Bernd Leno

According to Journalist, Fabrizio Romano Inter Milan are not interested in signing Arsenal goalkeeper, Bernd Leno.

Romano tweeted: “Inter are not considering Bernd Leno as an option. He’s not even in the list. André Onana is the goalkeeper they want to sign since July - and he’s really close to join Inter as free agent for June 2022 as reported for days.”

The German international spoke to Sport Bild, which you could say won’t help his current situation at Arsenal: “There was no clear reason why I was out, but it had nothing to do with my performance. He is the trainer, he decides. Of course, it’s difficult for me.

“London is very nice; Milan is not bad either and closer to my home Stuttgart. But I’m not seriously thinking about that yet. I feel comfortable at Arsenal and in London.”

Dusan Vlahovic hints intention to move

Arsenal could capitalise on signing Serbian international Dusan Vlahovic after Fiorentina president revealed that they’re struggling to get him to sign another contract.

The Italian club’s president, Rocco Commisso has said, according to the Daily Express that Vlahovic is not an easy player to tie down to the club at the moment.

Speaking about contract talks with the 21-year-old said, Commisso said: “I don’t know if he’ll sign, let’s all just stay calm.

“We’ve been working on it for months, some days are more positive than others. I speak to Dusan and he says he’s only focusing on the pitch and I should talk to his agents, then I talk to his agents and they say I have to speak to the player.”

This could all open up the chance for Mikel Arteta to capitalise on a move for the player, but he won't be an easy player to acquire. Fiorentina have already rejected a £51million bid for the striker, over the summer transfer window this per the reports by Sky Sports Italia.
