Arsenal are still looking to bolster their squad before the January transfer window closes.
The north London outfit were busy last summer as they signed Thomas Partey on deadline day from Atletico Madrid to go alongside deals for Gabriel Magalhaes, Willian, Dani Ceballos, and Alex Runarsson.
However, manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu revealed last month that the winter window would focus on trimming the first-team squad before making any significant additions.
So far, four have left either permanently or on loan deals while an announcement over a fifth exit is immiment.
As a result, the focus can now shift towards incomings.
In terms of what Arsenal's transfer missions are regarding new arrivals this month, Arteta and Edu have already identified what are their priorities.
"It's quite clear what we need," Edu said at an Arsenal fans' forum last month. "We need a player with creativity in the middle, we don’t have that in the squad right now."
Meanwhile, Arteta revealed that his plan is to sign a back-up goalkeeper to provide competition and cover for Bernd Leno as well as a left-back to ease the workload on Kieran Tierney.
Amid links to the likes of Freddie Woodman, Emi Buendia, and Martin Odegaard it's clear that Arsenal are in need of a welcome windfall if they're to sign at least one of the aforementioned trio plus a left-back.
With that in mind, there aren't too many players technical director Edu can look to sell in order to get a cash injection to improve Arteta's squad this month.
Sokratis Papastathopoulos has already departed on a free transfer after agreeing to terminate his contract and it's expected that confirmation that Mesut Ozil has done the same will come soon.
Meanwhile, Shkodran Mustafi wants to leave the Gunners on a free transfer when his contract expires in June and has already rejected an offer from the club, as exclusively revealed by football.london in October.
If a buyer can be found this month, £10.8m is his market value on transfermarkt.
It would appear that Runarsson is most likely to leave on loan if Arsenal can bring in another goalkeeper, but at £1.8m the club can recoup the money paid for the Iceland international last summer if they move him on permanently.
Calum Chambers needs regular game time and with a market value of £13.5m, he could be useful.
In terms of raising big money this month, Nicolas Pepe is the most realistic option.
The 25-year-old is Arsenal's record signing at £72m, but has struggled for consistency since joining from Lille, and whilst the club would take a loss with his value now at £36m, a better offer may never arrive.
Eddie Nketiah (£18m), Joe Willock (£14.4m), and Reiss Nelson (£11.25m) have all been linked with moves away this month and the Gunners may find it hard to turn down offers for at least one if their market value is matched.
Lucas Torreira is valued at £25.2m and there's talk of him being recalled from his loan spell with Atletico Madrid, and has been linked with a move to Valencia.
In total, that's £130m Edu could possibly raise via player sales in a dream scenario that would then fund a deal for one of Woodman, Buendia, Brandt, Edouard, plus and a new goalkeeper and potentially a left-back.
